You don’t need to get good at government-contracting software. fishbAIt gets good at understanding your company.
Here is what happens between the day you describe your business and the morning a matched opportunity lands in your inbox with the reasons it fits.
Tell your agent about your company
Your agent starts with what you already have: your website, a capability statement, brochures, past-performance summaries. It reads them and proposes a company profile, keeping track of where every fact came from. You add or correct the rest.
Every fact in your profile is labeled by its source — stated by you, taken from a document, from a public record, or suggested by the agent — and nothing the agent suggests becomes a rule until a person you authorize approves it. Facts that affect eligibility, like licenses and certifications, are never changed automatically.
What your profile holds
- What you do, in your own words, and your NAICS and PSC codes
- Certifications and set-asides: small business, 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, SDVOSB, and state programs
- Service territory: a radius, named states, parishes, counties, and cities, or rules for remote and delivery-based work
- The smallest and largest projects worth your time, and bonding or capacity where it matters
- Preferred agencies, contract types, and keywords
- Excluded work — the things you never want to see
- Past performance and examples of good and bad matches
Calibration before go-live
Before your agent is switched on, it is tested against recent real opportunities and you review the results. If the shortlist looks wrong, the profile is adjusted and tested again. Your agent cannot go live until payment, the required information, calibration, and your approval are all complete — and the profile version you approved is the one that runs.
Your agent checks every covered source, every day
Opportunities are collected from government sources on a predictable schedule and turned into one consistent record — title, agency, deadline, location, category, documents, links — no matter which source they came from.
Duplicates across sources are recognized as the same opportunity. Changes are detected: a new deadline, a cancellation, an added document, a revised scope. Each opportunity is tagged with the right industry categories, its work location is identified with a confidence level, and it gets a short, faithful summary. Where a source mixes bid notices with meetings, foreclosures, and zoning notices, only genuine procurement notices are kept.
Matching that explains itself
Every new opportunity is compared with your profile in a fixed order. Anything that clearly doesn’t qualify is removed first; the rest is ranked by how well it fits.
- 1Hard eligibility checks — set-asides, required registrations, and exclusions you set
- 2Geographic fit — is the place of performance inside your service territory?
- 3NAICS and PSC comparison against your codes
- 4Certification and set-aside check — does anything exclude your firm?
- 5Capability comparison — does the scope of work resemble what you actually do?
- 6Contract size and capacity check against the range you set
- 7AI reading of the solicitation for requirements, deadlines, and concerns
- 8fishbAIt Match Score, with the reasons behind it

Illustration of how a match is presented — not a live solicitation.
Every reason can be traced. Reasons like “matches your primary trade,” “within 40 miles,” or “closes in 12 days” point back to real information in the solicitation and your profile. Summaries and explanations are produced by automated systems, so verify anything you rely on against the official solicitation — the link is always right there.
Delivered the way you work
Your best new matches arrive by email, daily or weekly, with reasons, deadlines, and direct links to the official source. An unchanged item is never sent twice. When something you care about changes, you get an alert. Your dashboard holds everything in one place.
It learns your judgment
Mark a match Interested, Not for us, Saved, Bidding, Submitted, Won, or Lost. When it’s not for you, say why: too far, too small, too large, wrong service, wrong agency, a qualification you lack, contract type, timing. Your agent uses the pattern to rank better and to propose profile changes — which you still approve.
Ask your agent
Talk with your agent in plain language about the work in front of you: what an opportunity requires, why it matched, what the solicitation actually says, how two jobs compare. When it lacks a document, it can fetch it from the source with your go-ahead. It only ever answers — nothing about your account changes from a conversation.
Coverage you can see
There is no single feed of state and local procurement in America, so we don’t pretend there is. Federal opportunities are covered nationwide through SAM.gov. Louisiana state and local bid notices are covered today. Additional states and local sources are added one at a time, and the product shows you which sources are covered and when each was last successfully updated.
If a source you depend on isn’t covered yet, tell us. Coverage decisions are driven by what our customers need.
| Scope | Sources | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Federal, all states | SAM.gov contract opportunities | Active |
| Louisiana | State, parish, municipal, school-system, and university bid notices via the statewide public-notice publication | Active |
| Additional states | State and local procurement sources | Expanding |
Know which capability would unlock the most work
Because your agent understands each opportunity as a set of required licenses, certifications, registrations, and offerings — and understands your company as the capabilities it provides — it can show you which capability you could add to unlock the most recurring demand you are already adjacent to. It is reported as demand with evidence, never as a promise of eligibility or award.
